Advice And Training: family history research
Family history training can be provided for groups or individuals.
Advice includes the range of available research sources in the UK, their location and methods of research. Tutorials can be provided face to face or on line.
Brian Drescher, owner manager of English Roots, is a tutor for the WEA (Workers' Education Association). He runs family history training courses for beginners and more advanced courses for people with some family history experience. Brian has given a number of other family history presentations on different topics which have been very well received by audiences. He ran a successful workshop on developing and writing a family history for the Society of Genealogists in London in 2009.
Brian is a tutor for Pharos Teaching and Tutoring Ltd. He is one of five professional genealogists who run a range of online Pharos courses to enable people to search more effectively for their ancestors in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. The aim is to provide training that is both interesting and informative so that people can develop their research skills and understand the social, geographical and historical context of their ancestors' lives.
